A while back, Goddess Leonie (@GoddessLeonie on Twitter) and Lisa Baldwin (@zenatplay on Twitter) combined their superpowers and launched a 6-week ecourse called Making Space for Your Goddess to Shine.
I signed up for that course, got started and then had to put it down for a while because of schedule changes that threw a big wrench in my routines.
Finally, about a week ago, I was able to pick it up again. I wanted to share what I’ve experienced so far, because they are offering the course again, starting July 14.
What the course is about
At its heart, the course is about helping you transform your space – a room, a shelf, your office, your home – into a place that supports and nourishes you, in the ways you need.
Right in the first week of the course, Lisa states that “clutter is in the eye of the beholder.”
That’s the beauty of it – you decide what kind of space you need, and Lisa and Goddess Leonie help you create it.
Why I love this course
Part of what makes this course so great is the fact that Lisa and Leonie have very different approaches. It allows me to look at my space from different angles and work on it at different levels.
Lisa’s e-books help me feel calm and create some distance between my clutter and me, by asking the right questions about my stuff. This is where the decluttering happens, but in a compassionate, individualized way.
Goddess Leonie writes beautiful hand-painted love letters that make me want to read them again and again. She helps us to set the intention of what we want from our spaces, shows us how to create an altar, and work with smudging and Feng Shui to improve the vibe of our spaces.
Who this course is for
This course is for you if you want a well-rounded approach to creating spaces that support you, and you’re ready to take the time to work on it consciously.
This course does take work, because it’s about looking within to find out exactly what we need from our spaces and from our stuff.
Who it’s not for
If you fit into one of the following categories, you probably wouldn’t love this course:
- People who are looking for a course that offers a “quick fix” formula for decluttering. (When does that ever work?)
- People who are looking for a course only on feng shui, crystals, and smudging.
- People who don’t resonate with the idea that intention, crystals and feng shui can help to improve the energy of our spaces.
But will it help me?
Well, I can ask my Magic 8-Ball if it will help you, but I don’t think that’s the answer you’re looking for.
I can tell you how the course has helped me so far.
The biggest thing I notice is that I’m thinking differently about my space and my stuff.
By getting clear on what I want from the space (masterfully facilitated by the awesome course worksheets), I’m finding that the stuff I was so reluctant to get rid of is less appealing.
The worksheets helped me see that I want more creativity, prosperity, and sanctuary in my space. So I’ve begun to set up an altar with Goddess Leonie’s guidance. Even the process of deciding what should be part of my altar has helped make me more conscious of my stuff.
I’m considering which material possessions in my life right now are the treasures, which are trash, and which are just ho-hum.
I’ve even got a couple bags of clothes ready to be donated now, because Lisa did a great job of reminding me that they would be far better off being worn by someone who needs them.
There is just something about these e-books and the meditation audio and the worksheets that come together and help me feel ready to work on this.
Sure, I’ve got a long way to go, and I’ve barely finished working through the second week of the course (although I did peek ahead at weeks 3 and 4), but I’m loving what I’ve read and heard so far.
It’s not about trying to declutter in one marathon session. It’s about learning new ways to interact with our possessions and our spaces, so that we can be productive and satisfied goddesses.
If this sounds like it’s for you, you can learn all about it here. The course starts on July 14.
Update: Because Lisa and Goddess Leonie are such wonderful, awesome people, they’ll gladly take enrollments for a few days past the start date – but don’t wait too long!

When Victoria and I started working together, I was overwhelmed about all the different options for starting an online business--something I'll be doing in 2010.
